The Face of Rules in Virginia: The Northern Virginia Elite

Many Virginians were shocked to learn over the weekend that firearms had been banned at the State Capital and the administrative buildings housing the offices of those serving the people in the Virginia General Assembly. There were even whispers that Governor Ralph Northam (D) was considering issuing an "emergency" resolution to ban firearms on the entire Capital grounds not just the Capital itself.

Why was this an issue that demanded such focus by the Virginia Democrats? After all, the Assembly just convened early last week and this ban appeared to take all the oxygen out of the Assembly the first week in Richmond. Was than an issue for the entire Assembly? Was your Delegate of State Senator involved in this ban? Did they have a say in the manner in which it would be drafted and voted upon?

Of course not. Unless your elected official was selected to be on what is called the Joint Rules Committee of the General Assembly. Most work done in Richmond is done via commissions, committees and subcommittees which have elected officials from both the majority and the minority. These committees are authorized and formed by the Joint Rules Committee. These commissions or committees review any number of issues that Virginians face like Educations, Health Services, Transportation, Housing, Business etc..

The Joint Rules Committee can authorize a study by any one of the committees or commissions it has established. Only the 2020 Joint Rules Committee did not do that in the case of the Capital Gun Ban.
Why? Democrats feared they were up against the clock. Fear? That is correct.

Progressive Democrats had ratcheted up all week the coming the rallies coming to the Capital to oppose their pre-filed legislation proposals  and raised the alarm as they typically do falsely regarding "public safety". In short, they used this "fear" to enact a rule to forbid, prohibit any Virginians and even legislators from possession of a firearm with the Capital.

Virginia Democrats actually misrepresented the position of the Capital Police stating that the Capital Police asked for this ban to better effectively execute "public safety". There is NO record of any Capital Police representative seeking this ban, requesting this ban or even supporting this ban before the Joint Rules Committee held its meeting.

Why did Democrats misrepresent the position of the Capital Police or as some believe lie to Virginians? Control.

The Joint Rules Committee signals one very clear thing about the new majority. Democrats seek to exert more control of Virginians than any other majority in the modern era.

Typically a committee votes on issues before it and then once consensus is reached with a majority the proposal is sent out of committee often to the entire House or Senate. One would think a committee is not supposed to enact law or rules governing Virginians in truth without a floor vote where EVERY one of the elected officials from all across Virginia have an opportunity to "represent" and vote upon the proposal.

The Capital Gun Ban did not involve the majority of elected officials but rather highly selected anti-gun legislators in the Democrats Party who themselves have anti gun and anti-2A pre filled proposals for this session.

In other words, the majority stacked the Joint Rules Committee for the outcome they sought before the committee was even convened.

So the first real piece of business this new majority vote upon was done in the most partisan manner without the input or vote of the General Assembly at large like virtually all measures that impact Virginians.

Virginia was not provided equal representation and a majority of Virginians were disenfranchised by the Joint Rules Committee process.

This Joint Rules Committee was made up of selected State Senators and Delegates. The Virginia Senate and House of Delegates has its own Rules Committee as well  of course for each bodies members.

Many of these names will sound familiar if you have been following the 2A Gun Sanctuary Movement in terms of the majority. They represent some of the biggest anti Second Amendment in the Democrat Caucus:

It only took 11 Virginia Democrats to infringe on your rights as citizens. 11.  A mere 10 percent of elected officials from throughout the Commonwealth has the power to ban guns on public property that belongs to all Virginians.

Yet again you have a Democrat Party having Northern Virginia majorities on a committee to make determinations for the entire Commonwealth.

Democrats sued to talk about equality and disenfranchisement. Not this majority. It has set the tome for what is sure to come. Its leadership in both the Senate and House in entirely from the Northern Virginia region of the Commonwealth.

The message is clear. Democrats not longer represent all of Virginia but rather the interests and advocacy of Northern Virginia Progressives that now control the Democrat Party of Virginia.

Each one of these officials pictured here reject the Second Amendment and many have made proposals of their own regarding firearms but they are not alone in this Assembly.

Update: Virginia Democrats BAN Guns at State Capital

Update: 530PM-- Governor considering extending the ban to the entire outside grounds of State Capital as well. Reviewing "incoming intelligence" regarding the necessity to do so.....

Today in the Virginia General Assembly the first skirmish by Virginia Democrats and its impending "war on guns" was implemented this morning by the Rules Committee.

The stated position taken by Virginia Democrats is that guns no longer keep people safe.

The newly elected Speaker of the House of Delegates Eileen Filler-Corn of Fairfax (Burke) stated that "these are policies and rules that should have been passed a long, long time ago". Filler-Corn went further:

Is not every elected official "focus" to keep Virginians safe? When was the last time that the Capital experienced an "active shooter" and if it ever should happen would an individual intent on going harm abide by such a rule regarding possession inside Capital?

Democrats are using the Rules Committee to fuel the alarmist attitude that legal gun owners are a threat to not only them but Virginians at large. This is the messaging. Democrat legislators are telling Virginians that they should FEAR gun owners. WHY? Because they as legislators are worried about safety; not yours but theirs. They keep attempting to spin the narrative that its law abiding gun owners who are a threat to "public safety".

Democrats could not be anymore wrong!

This rule is merely yet another in a long list of anti-liberty and anti-freedom proposals the Virginia Democrats seek to enact. Everyone of them related to "public safety" is being signed off by Everytown for Gun Safety advocacy lobby that put many of the Democrats in the Assembly last November. Virginia legislation is being drafted not  by our own elected officals but by anti-gun lobbying groups.

Capital Police have made no statements regarding the necessity of a gun ban on Capital grounds nor provided ANY guidance related to the the ban enacted by Democrats. Colonel Anthony Pike of the Capital Police commented to reporters that he nor the Capital Police made any recommendations for any ban of firearms on the grounds.

The gun ban is certainly not about "public safety". It is a means to address the thousands of gun owners that are planned to attend Lobby Day in Richmond on January 20, 2020 and the National Rife Associations planned rally on Monday.

The ban goes into effect today at 5PM on Capital grounds and every person entering the building will be required now to enter through a metal detector.

The ban is merely the first skirmish fight for Democrats. They understand that they have poked the Republicans throughout the Commonwealth who own guns in such a manner that now they must use the Rules Committee to enact bans at the Capital.

As The Conservative State has written on before this is not the first ban enacted by Democrats. Northam has issued bans already in state buildings as well as Terry McAuliffe banned guns in 2017.

Democrats are making no secret of their intent to ban firearms throughout Virginia not just on the State Capital grounds. These measure was merely rushed through before the rallies that are scheduled in Richmond over the next two weeks.

Democrats have miscalculated. The gun is not nearly has powerful as the individual voter.

The genius of elections is all these measures can be repealed once the Democrats are voted out of office in the House of Delegates in 2021 and the Senate 2023 but the most important election in Virginia on the horizon is not the Presidential Elections  but rather next the Governor's election.

The power of the veto is a powerful political tool and Republicans must secure that power by winning the next race for Governor to stand as the stop back to the Progressives in Virginia and the Legislature.

SB104: Virginia Democrats Looking to Remove Parental Consent Relating to Medical and Health Services

The 2020 Virginia General Assembly has convened in Richmond, Virginia and the the Democrat Party of Virginia has assumed its majority role in both the House of Delegates and the Senate.

While much of the media focus has been on the historic nature and composition of the 2020 Assembly by the left leaning media and the proposed gun legislation being advanced by Governor Ralph Northam (D) by the right leaning media there is in truth many more pieces of legislation coming that very little light has been shined on.

                                                     One of the bills is Senate Bill 104.

                     Patron: State Senator Barbara Favola- VA31 (Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington)

Vaccinations and immunizations; minors; authority to consent. Provides that a minor shall be deemed an adult for the purpose of consenting to medical or health services related to receiving vaccinations and immunizations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention if the individual is at least 14 years of age and demonstrates to the satisfaction of a health care practitioner the ability to understand at the same comprehension level as an adult the risks and benefits associated with vaccinations and immunizations.

Parents all across the Commonwealth now face having their parental rights over their minor children ceded to the State. In effect, the State is seeking to permit a minor child the ability to seek medical treatment on their own without parental notification.

Would you consent to your child making the determination as to whether they should get a shot or a vaccine without your participation? A minor child influenced by the government employee making the recommendation without informing a parent nor requiring any notification pre or post treatment is seriously the kind of "healthcare" Democrats think is acceptable?

Would "PrEP" be admitted with out parental consent for example? The pre- exposure prophylaxis drug taken daily that addresses HIV prevention is clearly a drug that would be classified as a "sex drug". The intent of the drug is clear and is advertised for sexually active lifestyles.

Do Virginia parents really want minor children to have access to such drugs without parent or guardian consent? In truth, should SB104 pass the Assembly and be enacted  a minor child could have shots or vaccines, be administered drugs at schools or other youth facilities without any knowledge of a parent. NO NOTIFICATION.

All drugs appear to have side effects of some sort of another. If a parent is not notified of a drug a minor has consumed how would a parent effectively be able to identify any concern? Do we really want our children taking healthcare into their own hands? What if there are side effects? Would a child recognizer them soon enough? Allergic reactions? Would a pediatrician or primary care physician be notified of the shots, vaccines, drugs or birth control pills provided a minor child? The answer is no.

Do we really want schools or day care facilities to be healthcare providers? This is exactly what you will get if SB104 passes.

SB104 should be opposed by Virginia Conservatives.

Virginia's New Progressive Party advancing HD567: Governmental Restrictions on Indoor Gun Ranges

The Northern Virginia "New Virginia Progressive Party" that has hijacked the Democrat Party of Virginia continues to advance its anti-gun agenda and this time time intends to go after private Virginia business entities.

Progressive Delegate Dan Helmer  representing the VA40 House District in the General Assembly is advancing his bill to require indoor shooting ranges to be restricted to government owned or leased buildings or otherwise must track and record all visitor information and keep records of all users of the facility including law enforcement.

Helmer failed in his attempt to win the Democrat nomination to run for the VA10 Congressional seat having lost to Democrat Jennifer Sexton in 2018. Helmer than set his sights on the VA40 House District which represents portions of Fairfax and Prince William Counties. Helmer defeated Tim Hugo (R) 52-47% last November. Hugo had won the seat two years prior with 50% of the vote but in 2015 won with 65%.

Helmer is a West Point graduate from New Jersey and represents the new crop of Progressives coming up through the Democrat candidate training and mentoring programs that are non-Virginians. Today marks an historical event where there now sit the most non native Virginians in the General Assembly than every before.

Helmer was supported and funded by Progressive PAC's like EveryTown for Gun Safety and Michael Bills, a staunch anti-2A contributor and hedge fund manager from Charlottesville along with his wife Sonjia Smith who also contributed to Helmer as well.

It is clear that the #quidproquo is now due!

Helmer has claimed how firearms in Virginia can be purchased with ease in Virginia and without background checks and claimed he purchased a similar firearm he carried in the military at a Chantilly, Va gun show without a background check.

However, background checks are routinely run at Virginia gun shows by the State Police before firearms can be sold to buyers by licensed dealers.

The following is House Bill 567 as proposed:



HOUSE BILL NO. 567 Offered January 8, 2020 Prefiled January 6, 2020 A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 3 of Chapter 12 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-511.2, relating to indoor shooting ranges; prohibited in buildings not owned or leased by the Commonwealth or federal government; exceptions; civil penalty.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 3 of Chapter 12 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-511.2 as follows:

§ 18.2-511.2. Indoor shooting ranges; prohibited in private buildings; exceptions; penalty.

A. As used in this section, "indoor shooting range" means any fully enclosed or indoor area or facility designed for the use of rifles, shotguns, pistols, silhouettes, skeet, trap, or black powder or any other similar sport shooting.

B. It is unlawful to operate an indoor shooting range in any building not owned or leased by the Commonwealth or the federal government unless (i) fewer than 50 employees work in the building or (ii) (a) at least 90 percent of the users of the indoor shooting range are law-enforcement officers, as defined in § 9.1-101, or federal law-enforcement officers, (b) the indoor shooting range maintains a log of each user's name, phone number, address, and the law-enforcement agency where such user is employed, and (c) the indoor shooting range verifies each user's identity and address by requiring all users to present a government-issued photo-identification card.

C. Any person that violates the provisions of this section is subject to a civil penalty of not less than $1,000 nor more than $100,000 for the initialIronicallyt violation and $5,000 per day for each day of violation thereafter.

Ironically just last week in the suburbs of Richmond, State Senator Amanda Freeman Chase (R) held an event at an indoor range with pro #2AStrong supporters. Such a range would not be permitted to operate seems if Delegate Dan Hemler had is way.

Virginia Trump Swing District Democrat Congresswomen Facing Election Backlash 2020: Exposed by Gun Sanctuary Movement

In the months ahead it is important to prepare for the November elections to come. While Virginians wrestle with the legislation being passed by the General Assembly during the 2020 Legislative Session, it is important to  begin to look at the Congressional races on the immediate horizon.

We now also have the latest Iranian events that appear to have aligned Democrats with Iran against the President. As surreal as that sounds, we now see how deep the level of partisanship goes with many in Congress with a refusal this morning to condemn Iran for firing missiles from their own soil into a neighboring sovereign Iraq.

This is not new with Democrats. The Virginia Congressional Delegation has refused to condemn Hamas in Gaza backed by Iran for firing rockets into Israel routinely. Two Congresswomen on the hot seat in Virginia are Rep. Abigail Spanberger and Rep. Elaine Luria in large part because both have government or military backgrounds but refuse to support the President and the targeting and ultimate killing of the biggest terrorist in the post Bin Laden world.

Like many political opportunists in Congress, these two Congresswomen have not condemned the Iranians for the missile attack into Iraq or any of the rocket attacks into Israel as "acts of war" yet appear to support the Progressive media that the authorization of Trump to strike a terror target is an "act of war" or aggression. How is it these leaders are quick to condemn their own President before terrorists and the Iranian regime that backs them?

Iran has long waged proxy wars against the United States using terror affiliates like Hamas and Hezbollah and yet far too many Democrats refuse to condemn these affiliates. Congresswomen like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar have stated support for Palestinians and have failed to condemn a single attack by either affiliate on Israel. Both came under criticism for their continual anti-Israel and anti-semitic tweets in 2019.

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D) and Rep. Elaine Luria (D) won victories in 2018 in Virginia swing districts. Both the Virginia 7th and Virginia 2d were won by President Trump and both have very large veteran and active military populations. This cannot be understated given recent events and escalation of hostilities directed towards our military. Both have joined Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar in their opposition to supporting Western allies involved in the Yemen conflict and have signed on to legislation to prevent the Unites States from assisting our allies in Yemen with either military aid or intelligence.

Democrats rationale for not supporting our allies in the fight against radical Islamic extremism in Yemen is that the use of military aid and intelligence for targeting the Houthi rebels that removed the legitimate government in Yemen qualifies under the 1973 War Powers Resolution and must have Congressional approval. Democrats like Spanberger have spoken to the Yemen conflict but conflate the fact that both Houthi elements and Iranian backed affiliates associated with Al Qaeda. She and other Democrats characterize Yemen as one of our "allies war" but not an American conflict and yet the fact remains Yemen in an extension of our war on terror given there are elements of both Al Qaeda and ISIS using Yemen as a training ground and fighting there backed by Iran.

The "war powers" is the same argument many Democrats are using this week regarding the U.S. drone attack that killed terrorist Soleimani in Baghdad last Friday declaring that Congressional approval should have been sought before action was undertaken.

The question remains would Democrats have supported the strike had they been informed? If not, what would have been the justification given President Obama identified Soleimani as a top terrorist that has had a hand in the deaths of hundreds of Americans and thousands of Iraqi.

Abigail Spanberger defeated incumbent Dave Brat (R) 50.34 to 48.40. 1.21% of the vote also went to a third party candidate in the race. In the upcoming Republican convention scheduled for the 7th to nominate a challenger for Spanberger there are already six confirmed candidates.

The following candidates have declared for the Republican Convention for the #VA07:

Andrew Knaggs
Jason Roberge
Nick Freitas (Delegate House District 30)

Luria defeated incumbent Republican Scott Taylor in 2018 51.05 to 48.81. Luria currently has three potential challengers that are running for the Republican nomination. Taylor had originally declared to run for US Senate against Mark Warner (D)  but has since withdrawn and is now planning to seek re-election to his previous seat in the House.

The following candidates are seeking the Republican nomination in #VA02:

Ben Loyola Jr.
Jarome Bell

Given both Spanberger and Luria won in Trump districts is now very problematic for them.

Both support impeachment and wrote an op ed in the Washington Post that many claim was coordinated with Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she authorized the impeachment inquiry soon after the op ed ran. Insiders have spoken to the fact that the op ed provided Pelosi with political cover to initiate the inquiry process.

Spanberger promised voters she would be an independent check on Trump and she often states that she is in Congress to "serve the people of Virginia". Yet many have argued that Spanberger has served her Party and Nancy Pelosi over that of the will of most Virginians in the VA07. Spanberger's position on impeachment and gun control leave her in direct conflict with her constituents living outside suburban Richmond.

In fact, every county in the VA07 has supported the #2AStrong Gun Sanctuary Movement to affirm the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment except the very two and only two localities Spanberger won outright in 2018. Chesterfield County where Spanberger won by 9 points and Henrico County where she won by 18 points have yet to endorse a gun sanctuary resolution. The other 8 counties have all endorsed the gun sanctuary movement.

Chesterfield and Henrico represent a significant amount of the voting population in the #VA07. The both are growing suburban counties outside Richmond, Virginia. Roughly 124,000 of the 176,079 votes in support of Spanberger came from these two localities.

Spanberger has stated she is ALL IN on gun control. It is clear that while Spanberger will not be voting in Richmond this month, she is in complete support of the Northam gun ban legislation  being proposed in the General Assembly and has not released a single public statement in support of gun sanctuary counties in the VA07 that have affirmed resolution to support the Second Amendment.

This fact is what leaves many voters questioning Rep. Spanberger's integrity. She informed voters at a town hall she was a supporter of the second amendment yet has released no public statements od support for #2AStrong nor has come out against the Progressive gun legislation in Richmond that certainly violates the U,S. Constitution she claims to support.

During a recent town hall meeting, Spanberger asked constituent Michael Berry "what he used his assault style weapon for and if he hunted with it" after being prompt with second amendment questions. This question alone says everything one needs to know about Rep. Spanberger's current position on gun control.

Firstly, there is no such thing as "assault style" firearms. Its is a made up "code word" by Progressives and having worked in law enforcement as a federal agent Spanberger knows this. The phrasing as worked for Everytown for Gun Safety in its messaging as it funded numerous Virginia Assembly campaigns in 2019 and now are demanding payment for their donations.

The #quidproquo has come due for the Democrat Assembly in Richmond.

Second, whose business it is what a law abiding citizen does with their property? Guns are in fact personal property in truth and we all share the right to possess them and whether we hunt or target shoot is no ones business let alone the governments. And yes, Rep. Spanberger represents the government in her capacity as a Representative.

While platitudes of support for the second amendment may matter to some and be great on the campaign trail the truth is in the very questions Spanberger posed to Michael Berry. Spanberger implied at the town hall that one does not need an "assault style" weapon let alone use it for hunting. It is clear she supports the banning of any firearm the Democrats "classify" as "assault-style". Important to note they rarely are willing to define just what that classification is.

Neither Spanberger nor Elaine Luria has been reported to have attended a single "gun sanctuary" meeting or met with advocates for the movement. Political advocates for the movement like Nick Freitas (R) and John McGuire (R) both veterans came under tweeter attack last Fall by Spanberger campaign associates as reported by American Thinker and Richmond Times Dispatch. This is not the first time that individuals associated with Spanberger have tweet attacked her opposition.

Potential challengers to Spanberger and Luria have attended local gun sanctuary resolution meetings. All of Elaine Luria's potential challengers attended the recent Virginia Beach City meeting. Spanberger and Luria joined Jennifer Wexton another Virginia Democrat representing the VA10 Congressional District in supported the Progressive gun control measure House Bill 8 in 2019.

Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019 This bill establishes new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties (i.e., unlicensed individuals). Specifically, it prohibits a firearm transfer between private parties unless a licensed gun dealer, manufacturer, or importer first takes possession of the firearm to conduct a background check. 


It is clear that both Rep. Spanberger and Rep. Luria seek gun restrictions legislation and increased gun regulations upon law abiding citizens with no solutions to address illegal gun possessions in the hands of criminals nor the violence that those criminals commit with firearms.

Pro 2A Virginians: "Staying in the Fight" vs. Politics as Usual

The Virginia General Assembly is set to return to Richmond bringing elected officials from all over the Commonwealth back to the capital to do the "peoples business".

With so many things that the Assembly could be focusing on to move Virginia forward, it is now post November focused upon changing the very nature of Virginia and all that it has stood for since the first legislative assembly of 1619.

The New Virginia Progressive movement of the Democrat Party of Virginia and its supporters at Blue Virginia have taken virtually all the oxygen out of the room in politics in the Commonwealth of Virginia. They no longer represent the value systems of even many Democrats living throughout the Commonwealth, especially those living in Southwest and Eastern Virginia. In fact, pro gun Democrats are now witnessing a movement within their Party that stands to reshape the very foundation of its own traditions and those Virginians have noticed.

The last several weeks has revealed the countless measures that the Progressives are pressuring Virginia Democrats to pass during the upcoming Virginia 2020 General Assembly. Yes the Democrats won majority in the Virginia Assembly but lets be honest and frankly Democrats should be honest with themselves; Democrats won majority by flipping two seats in the Virginia Senate in truth. Two.

Democrats secured Senate District 10 mostly due to the voters in City of Richmond and also District 13 due in part to the retiring of State Senator Dick Black which covers  Loudoun County and Prince William County. Democrats now control the House of Delegates 55-45 and the Senate 21-19.

Loudoun and now after today Prince William County will have rejected the Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution staying true to form with Progressives. Fairfax, Loudoun and Arlington is your highest concentration of Progressive Democrats in Virginia. In fact, the entire Democrat Party of Virginia and Caucus leadership in both chambers of the Assembly come from this region of the Commonwealth.

So much for that diversity Democrats always claim.

The Prince William County board last month approved the sanctuary measure but today the newly elected members from the November election who hold seats in the body have made it clear they intend to undo the initial support for a gun sanctuary in Prince William County.

This is course no surprise. Its politics and Virginia Democrats put politics before everything. Yes everything. We have seen it just last week as Virginia Democrats condemn the President for authorizing drone attack that killed the biggest terrorist organizer in the Middle East. Instead of putting country, Commonwealth and Constitution first; they put petty politics first.

The Progressive leadership now that has become the compass for the Virginia Democrats does not represent all Democrats however and many would be wise to acknowledge this fact. There are a half dozen seats in the House of Delegates that were won by Democrats by less than eight points in November. Eight point with less than average Republican turnout.

If the election were held tomorrow would the results in many of these House Districts be the same? Maybe but one should also remember that over twenty seats went unopposed in November. That certainly would not be the case today.

It is time now that Patriots enter "opposition" mode in Richmond. This requires identifying those votes that may be swayed to opposing Governor Ralph Northam's and State Senator Dick Saslaw gun legislation.

Jonathan Scott created one of the single most defining second amendment sanctuary movement pages in Virginia back in November 2019 providing information on the grassroots movement county by county with hundreds of contributors from around the Commonwealth. One aspect that Jonathan Scott stresses for those who are supporting the #2AStrong movement is not only focus on ones own Delegate or State Senator.  For example, if your Delegate supports upholding the Constitution than focus on those officials that do not. Work on email campiangs or facebook to convince them and let them know that you are committed toward supporting only officials that uphold the Constitution. Your support can come in various ways but the most important outside of voting will be to financially support or volunteer in opposition to said officials next campaign.

There are also plans underway for the creation of 2A Political Action Committee  (PAC)for Virginia to help support and elect pro-2A officials in the 2021 House of Delegate races and the nex Governor's race in the Commonwealth. Part of a Take Back Virginia  and #TurnVaRed initiative.

After all, Virginia faces these unconstitutional proposals because of outside support and campaign volunteers that Democrats were provided from outside the Commonwealth in 2019. Democrats took millions of donations and contributions from non-Virginians in order to secure the majority.

Two House seats that the #2AStrong movement has targeted this session that Patriots should consider are the following:

House of Delegates District 83


House of Delegates District 83: 
Democrat Delegate Nancy Guy. This is Republican Chris Stolle's former district. Guy defeated Stolle 49.97 to 49.85% in November. Virginia Beach constituency.
Virginia Beach City just passed #2AStrong sanctuary resolution

House of Delegates District 75:
Democrat Delegate Roslyn Tyler defeated Republican Otto Wachsmann
50.98 to 48.89% in November. Gun owning constituency.
Brunswick County, Emporia, Franklin, Greensville, Lunenburg, Southampton, Sussex
The counties in this district are #2AStrong gun sanctuaries

So what these two examples illustrate is you have Democrats outside the Progressive Northern Virginia localities that won very close elections in November that now have local governing bodies going against Richmond and the Democrat Party with their support for the Constitution.

These are two Democrats who should be lobbied on Lobby Day or contacted directly via email or facebook pages for Virginians (all Virginians) to share with them their concerns with the direction Richmond is moving.

Again, if the election were held tomorrow and voters were informed to the  effort underway in Richmond by Progressives the outcome in these two examples would be quite different. Voters need to make the Delegates aware of that fact.

There are certainly other districts as well which the #2AStrong movement intends to highlight moving forward going into the next election cycle as well.

Today, Prince William County will do the bidding of the Progressives and undo the sanctuary resolution the previous Board supported last month. This comes right after Fairfax County State Senator David Marsden called pro-2A  supporters "crazy" and "little kids" at a recent meeting. This of course follows State Senator Dick Saslaw-Majority Leader calling pro-2A supporters "delusional".

This is simply the politics of destruction by Northern Virginia Progressives. They never debate the merits of their legislation  but rather attack Virginians who have opposing positions. Virginians must continue to fight and stay in the fight working to oppose each and every piece of legislation set to defy our traditions and heritage with regard to the US Constitution.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe: The Forgotten 2017 Gun Ban in Virginia

While many Virginians remain shocked that Governor Northam (D) intends on banning guns as part of the most sweeping and radical gun control legislation in Virginia history, it is important to remember that Northam is simply following his predecessor Governor Terry McAuliffe.

Governor Terry McAuliffe actually banned firearms, however virtually no one noticed and the media in Richmond hardly even covered the action undertaken. The Commonwealth of Virginia in fact imposed imposed strict limitations in November 2017 regarding any protests, rallies or public demonstrations at the Robert E. Lee Monument in Richmond erected in 1890 by Virginia Democrats to celebrate the life of the Virginian.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe proclaimed emergency powers and issues emergency regulations forgoing any legislation to do so through the General Assembly which his Party held the minority.

McAuliffe would restrict the right to assembly  by reducing  permitted crowd sizes at events at the Lee Monument to 500. The previous crowd limit was 5,000. The Governor also changed the required permits for public assembly requiring  a permit for an event hosted for more than 10 people.

So basically a school bus load of children could never visit the Lee Monument again without an actual permit to do so and now you know why you never see the tour buses stopped at the monument unloading tourists. So much for hospitality and tourism in the city.

Yet, Governor McAuliffe  went further. McAuliffe issued a gun ban on any events scheduled at the Lee Monument. Something that had never been done before in the history of the Monument Avenue.

These regulations were a stated direct result from the events in Charlottesville, Va. in 2017 as means towards changing the  "climate" or "preventing" protests in Richmond. So in effect, a sitting Governor was attempting to prevent organized protest or assembly in the capital city of the Commonwealth and was using emergency regulations to do it.

The Progressives cheered McAuliffe having no regard for the rights  of assembly or the right to bear arms and the Governor totally circumvented the legislature to do it. 

The Governor passed no regulations or requirements to take effect in Charlottesville where the rally occurred nor did the Governor ever ask the City Council of that city to address its monuments though Charlottesville would later "black tarp" both the Lee and Jackson monuments in Charlottesville and rename Lee Park to Emancipation Park.

Governor McAuliffe singled out only the Lee Monument for his targeted discriminatory regulations and further prohibited anyone from open carry or conceal carry on the premise of the Lee Monument. The monument is not a government building or complex nor a religious venue that typical legislation limits open carry.

How did this all happen in truth. Simple. The Progressives used the "public safety" messaging to convince Virginians that a threat was eminent. That the Commonwealth would be over run with Unite the Right protesters or Neo Nazi/KKK groups. None of which happened after the Charlottesville event. 

Progressives manufactured a "crisis".

Virginia Democrats and Governor McAuliffe assured Virginians that such restrictions “will balance First Amendment rights and ensure that all Virginians remain safe....We believe these regulations can be a model for localities across Virginia as they consider how to approach these types of events in the future.”

Message? Localities would be given license to enact their own measures to restrict assembly, open carry or restrict entry to buildings while carrying a firearm.

Furthermore, what Governor McAuliffe actually was saying is the Confederate monuments are no longer off limits and protected. These actions were the true catalyst or "green light" moment for Virginia history to be attacked.

Prior to the "emergency" action taken by McAuliffe vandalism was a virtual rarity in Richmond and Charlottesville. Afterward, dozens of instances have occurred with the use of red paint on various statues and monuments. In effect, The Democrats made the monuments a target and thus a "symbol" of their intentions moving forward to fundamentally change the perception of the part these Virginia treasures play in Virginia history.

While campaigning for office, Governor McAuliffe stated numerous times that the monuments should remain a part of Virginia history. He was quoted as saying "they are all part of our heritage".

McAuliffe and the Democrats have in fact betrayed Virginia history and its heritage.

The nexus between what is happening today with Governor Ralph Northam's proposed gun legislation, McAuliffe , Mayor Levar Stoney and the Virginia Progressives is clear. Northam's proposals are merely an extension of what Governor McAuliffe implemented in 2017.

Unlike most monuments in Richmond, Va which are owned by the city, the Robert E. Lee Monument is owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia and thus all Virginians. This fact may be its only saving grace in truth as the City of Richmond has some have proposed for the removal of Confederate monuments in the city, including Mayor Levar Stoney who is likely to run for Lt. Governor in 2021

It is important to note that with all the predicted hysteria and fears that Progressives always craft as their narrative regarding such issues as racism and the monuments the city just last month unveiled a new statue Rumors of War  whose sole purpose is a counter-reaction to the monument of J.E.B Stuart on Monument Avenue.

Of course there were no protests or rallies objecting to the erection of the two million dollar Rumors of War statute outside the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts by anyone.

Far too many forget the "emergency" action undertaken by Governor McAuliffe. It is clear that Governor Northam  this time planning to use the legislature to enact unconstitutional gun bans and or confiscation rather than "emergency" powers or regulations.

The media hardly covered the regulations back in 2017 regarding the actions undertaken by McAuliffe. Even though on their face they were an afront to freedom to assemble and right to bear arms in the public square.

This is the lesson. Virginians can no longer stand by and allow such measures to be advanced further by government imposing regulations or unconstitutional laws for fear of being called "code words" by the Progressives. 

In 2017 if anyone opposed McAuliffe's measures they would be called "racist" paying no mind to the underlying assault on freedom and liberty such regulations represent and have led us to where Virginia is today.

Pro Second Amendment supporters must understand that the very intention they have for uphold our Constitution will be portrayed as anything but by Progressives and the media.
